From Spreadsheets to Strategy
In 2014, Ash Kaul saw a problem that was becoming increasingly difficult to ignore: some of the world’s best e-commerce brands were still making critical decisions on spreadsheets.
Teams spent hours pulling data from Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other retailers, only to find the market had already moved by the time they had the answers.
“People started to see the limitations of the spreadsheet. There’s so much automation and pre-built linkages that can happen.”
A lot changed on digital shelves post-COVID. Consumer brand teams were working in silos and every team was looking at e-commerce differently. The need of the hour wasnt more dashboards or more data.
It was clarity, knowing what mattered right now, without having to dig for it.
That thinking became the foundation of the 5-Minute Rule: if you have five minutes, what would you want to know? And why shouldn’t that answer already be waiting for you?
In 2024, MetricsCart began shaping the platform around how teams actually work. Different roles need different answers, so the platform was designed to fit individual workflows rather than force teams into a single way of working.
“MetricsCart is usability-focused and built around fitting a particular workflow, as opposed to having teams fit our workflow.”
Pricing teams get pricing intelligence. Compliance teams get compliance insights. Executives get the information they need to understand what’s changing.
We have arrived at the agentic commerce evolution. MetricsCart aims to help teams cut through complexity, surface anomalies, and find the insights that deserve their attention.
“Instead of looking at 50,000 data points, AI is very useful for finding anomalies and insights.”
From spreadsheets to strategy, the idea remains the same: clarity should come to you, not the other way around.
MetricsCart was founded by experts who lived the gaps in e-commerce intelligence. Today, our team continues that mission with every product update.
