A total of 8,272 coffee products on Amazon have been analyzed for the report.   

Key Findings

  • A total of 20.52 million units were sold in the coffee category on Amazon.
  • The average rating of coffee products during this period was 4.40.
  • Nespresso Capsules VertuoLine Variety Pack, featuring medium and dark roast coffee, is the most popular coffee product with a sales volume of 500,000 units. 
  • The majority of coffee products on Amazon have low discounts or offers. 
  • Consumers tend to rate coffee products higher when their prices are lower. 

Best Selling Coffee Product on Amazon

Nestlé is considered to be the most influential coffee brand in the market, with a total share of 10.8%. Attesting to this, the data experts at MetricsCart found that the Nespresso Capsules VertuoLine Variety Pack, featuring medium and dark roast coffee, is the most popular coffee product on Amazon.

It sold over 500,000 units in August. Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee Blend, light-medium Espresso Roast, 2.2 Pound (Pack of 1) and Nespresso Capsules Vertuo, Barista-Flavored Pack, Medium Roast Coffee, 30 Count Coffee Pods, Brews 7.77 fl. Oz closely followed, with 490,000 units sold by each brand.

Average Price of Coffee Products on Amazon

Coffee prices on Amazon fluctuated in August, ranging from $20.58 to $29.57, with notable increases on the 8th and 13th of the month.

From mid-August, prices of coffee products increased and continued the trend toward the end of the month. 

4,326 coffee products are priced between $0 and $20, 2,901 between $20 and $40, and 813 between $40 and $60. This suggests that most coffee products on Amazon are affordable. 

Ratings of Coffee Products on Amazon

Coffee products offering a 10% to 20% discount have been found to have the highest average rating of 4.4. However, products with deeper discounts of 40% to 50% have a lower average rating of 4.1.

This shows that most coffee consumer trends on Amazon don’t consider discounts a major yardstick. Other product-related factors like blend, roast quality, brand, and strength take priority over discounts.

Monthly Sales of Coffee Products by Ratings

For August, coffee products with a rating of 0 had total sales of 195,650 units. Whereas the products with the highest rating of 5 had total sales of 13,713,250 units.

This shows that the coffee products with the highest ratings on Amazon consistently have high sales. Tracking consumer sentiment using review monitoring can help a brand understand preferences and thereby improve its product offerings, leading to better sales figures.

Sponsored ads help brands garner more product visibility and customer engagement than non-sponsored brands.

Coffee products on Amazon are popular, and customers prefer various brands according to their personal preferences regarding coffee.
